The last week of May will be devoted to diving in Curaçao. Apart from the "official" Curaçao Dive Festival that takes place from May 23 till May 30, 2009 there are several other dive related activities during that week. 
The official opening of this "alternative" Curaçao Dive Festival takes place on Friday May 22 in the Public Library. At that time the Dive Exposition will be opened. The exposition is open daily during the opening hours of the Public Library. The library is located at the Abraham M. Chumaceiro Bulevar 17, opposite the Waaigat. From the dive shop Trunkdivers there will be a section devoted to Archaeological Diving on Curaçao and there will be an exposition of several photographs made by the "Duiksmurf", one of the Trunkdivers. During that same week on Wednesday May 27, 2009 a multimedia presentation and lecture will be held by Karel Boon and John Dohmen about Archaeoligical diving on Curaçao which focuses on the wreck of the SS Mediator and remnants of the USS Erie.
